Research Interests

• human language production and comprehension;
• computational modeling of human memory, learning and forgetting;
• semantics-driven machine understanding of natural language;
• automated text generation from knowledge bases.

Degrees

• 2009: the degree of Candidate of Philological Sciences with specialty in Applied and Computational Linguistics (U. S. equivalent: Doctor of Philosophy degree in Linguistics) from Herzen University, St. Petersburg;dissertation: “Linguo-Statistic Correlates of Spontaneity in Computer-Mediated Discourse (in Russian Chats)” (defended on May 26, approved on Nov 20 by the Higher Attestation Commission of Russia);

• 2006: the qualification of Engineer with specialty in Information Systems and Technologies (U. S. equivalent: a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Computer and Information Sciences, and a Master of Science degree in Computer and Information Sciences) from Arkhangelsk State Technical University, with honors;thesis: “Automated Knowledge Extraction from Natural Language Sources.”
