Richard C. Freed
Professor, Rhetoric and Professional Communication
Rich Freed likes writing poetry, playing the saxophone, and (even more) listening to those who play it well. Around the world, at least a few people believe that he knows more about certain kinds of proposal writing than, well, maybe anyone, either because they have taken one of his workshops or read a blurb on one of his books, which of course he wrote (the blurb, that is, as well as the books): "Rich Freed has more than 25 years’ experience teaching proposal strategy, development, and communication at international management consulting firms like A.T. Kearney, KPMG, and IMS Health. In 26 countries on five continents, he has helped his students and clients write winning proposals worth well over $1B. His Writing Winning Business Proposals (McGraw-Hill), forthcoming in its third edition, has been called "the most comprehensive treatment we've seen" by Consultant's News, and his research on proposal writers and writing, The Variables of Composition, won national acclaim for the best research book in technical communication."
