The 7th Annual Wildness Symposium, "A Rough Guide to the Heart and Mind," features keynote addresses by three prominent writers, readings, and panel discussions. All events are free and open to the public.

PAM HOUSTON (author of Cowboys Are My Weakness, Waltzing the Cat, and A Little More About Me: Essays),  MICHAEL PERRY (author of Truck: A Love Story and Coop: A Year of Poultry, Pigs, and Parenting) and PEGGY SHUMAKER (author of Just Breathe Normally, A Year in Place, and Gnawed Bones) are the keynote speakers for the 7th Annual Symposium on Wildness, Wilderness and the Creative Imagination.   

  • The theme for the 7th Annual Symposium is "A Rough Guide to the Heart and Mind."    Events will include keynote addresses, readings and panel discussions.
  • Dates of symposium are Saturday, February 26 - Sunday, February 27, 2011. 
  • All events will take place in the Memorial Union, Iowa State University and are free and open to the public.
