The annual English Department Picnic will be held Sunday, Sept. 6, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. in Brookside Park at the Hickory Shelter (by the fire engine).
What to Bring:
- Please bring a dish to share, utensils for yourself and family/significant-others, and drinks (alcoholic and/or not). This is a pack-in and pack-out wilderness picnic. What you take in must go home with you.
- A grill will be available to cook the burgers/vegi-burgers/brats that
you bring. Coolers full of ice will be provided to keep your
carry-in-out potables cold.
We have two guests of honor:
1. Guests of honor are the staff. They do not have to bring anything! They and their families are cordially invited.
2. Our other guests of honor are graduate students, who are asked to bring a food item that's inexpensive and not time-consuming to make.
Activities: We will have frisbees, kick balls, bean bag toss, and a whiffle ball set. There are also softball fields, a volleyball court, and plenty of grass for kick the can, sack race, watermelon toss, and other games, so feel free to bring balls, bats, gloves, gunny sacks, melons, or whatever equipment you wish for whatever pastimes you wish to organize.
