- College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Dean Michael Whiteford will give his annual "state-of-the-college" address at the LAS Fall Convocation Wednesday, Sept. 5, at 4 p.m. in the Martha-Ellen Tye Recital Hall. This is a change in location due to the ongoing construction in the Memorial Union. Whiteford's talk will be but one highlight of the convocation. LAS faculty and staff will be recognized with college and university awards, while new faculty and staff members will be introduced. Faculty members who have received promotions will also be recognized. A reception will be held immediately afterwards.
