tehan-screencast.jpgAmy Tehan's November 4th presentation to the STC Central Iowa, "Screencasting for Dummies (and Smarties)," is now available online in streaming video format, for those who weren't able to attend in person. Amy Tehan is a training and records management coodinator at the Ames Laboratory, a master's student in Rhetoric, Composition and Professional Communication, and past president of the Iowa State University STC Student Chapter.

Her presentation argues that with so much training being done on computers (along with other tasks being done while training is taking place on that same computer), it’s important to be familiar with best practices for developing training and other modules with screencasts. In her presentation, she demonstrates tips and tricks for making an effective screencast that will hold the viewer’s attention and get the message across.

The presentation is available in Flash or MPEG-4 formats from the EServer website Lectures on Demand, at:

It's also available from the Lectures on Demand iTunes podcast. The presentation is just under 38 minutes.
