Andrew Payton Awarded the James Hearst Poetry Prize from The North American Review

The North American Review is the nation's oldest literary journal in the country.

The poet, H.L. Hix, has selected Andrew Payton's poem, "Bad May," for the 2013 James Hearst Poetry Award from The North American Review.   The award includes a $1000 honorarium and publication in The North American Review.  Congratulations!

 

Andrew Payton is a third year writer in the MFA Program in Creative Writing and Environment.   He is from College Park, Maryland and holds a B.A. degree in Electronic Media & Film/English from Towson University.  Payton's work has been published in dislocate and Yemassee.
