Mary Swander receives 2006 Iowa Author AwardISU Distinguished Professor Mary Swander is one of three authors honored by the Des Moines Public Library Foundation. Mary Swander Professor Swander will receive her award at the Seventh Annual Iowa Author Awards Dinner to be held October 12 at the Hotel Fort Des Moines. The Des Moines Public Library Foundation website currently includes biographical sketches of all three 2006 award winners, and can be accessed at: http://www.pldminfo.org/Foundation/awardsdinner06.html Heading the long list of Mary's accomplishments is her most recent book, The Desert Pilgrim, as well as the numerous other regional and national awards she has received.
