Brow, Betcher, and Langenberg Recognized for Contributions to the University Honors ProgramThree members of the English Department community received recognition at spring awards ceremonies of the University Honors Program. Three members of the English Department community received recognition at spring awards ceremonies of the University Honors Program. The Honors Student Board presented the 2011-2012 W. Robert Parks Honors Commendation Student Award to outgoing HSB President Tessa Brow, a double major in English and Math, with a minor in Women’s Studies, for her leadership of, hard work for, and dedication to the Honors Program, and the Parks Honors Commendation Faculty Award to Dr. Gloria Betcher, Adjunct Associate Professor of English and Technical Communication Program Coordinator, for her teaching of Honors seminars, involvement in Honors events, and mentoring of Honors students. The University Honors Program recognized Ms. Christiana Langenberg, Adjunct Instructor or English and Academic Adviser, with the University Honors Program Award for Excellence in Teaching for her teaching of Honors seminars and English 250H, as well as her generosity as an adviser and mentor of Honors students.
