Rachael Button's essay, "Why I Run," was published in the Fall 2010 issue of Creative Nonfiction.

Congratulations to third-year MFA student, Rachael Button, whose essay, "Why I Run," was published in the Fall 2010 issue of Creative Nonfiction.

Rachael Button is from Michigan and received her undergraduate degree from Valparaiso University.  Since moving to Iowa she's run the Des Moines marathon, helped with a prairie burn, volunteered on an organic farm, and taken part in a community art project at Ada Hayden Park.  Rachael did her field work at the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum in Paradise, Michigan, where she taught people about sunken ships, lighthouses, and Lake Superior.  Rachael's work has been published in KNOCK, Flyway: A Journal of Writing and Environment, and she has an essay forthcoming from redividerjournal.org.
