Mendelson, Michael. "Judgment, Antilogic, and Epoche." International Protagoras Conference. University of Leiden, The Netherlands. July 4 - 7, 2007.
The International Protagoras Conference held at the University of Leiden in July of 2007 was the first international meeting of scholars interested in the great Sophist of 5C Athens, Protagoras of Abdera. Participants from all over the world delivered papers, the majority of which involved issues and methods common to analytical philosophy. As the lone rhetorician, Mendelson argued for the Protagorean origins of a dialogical approach.

"Can We Learn Practical Judgment? Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and the Quest for Common Sense." The Carrollinian: The Lewis Carroll Journal 18 (Spring 2007). 36-60.
Michael Mendelson's article investigates Alice's emotional and intellectual growth during her adventures in Wonderland. As a rhetorician, Mendelson's theoretical perspective on this issue is the Aristotelian concept of "phronesis," or common sense. When viewed through this classical lens, Alice's physical changes are complemented by the halting development of her judgment. The Lewis Carroll Journal is published by The Lewis Carroll Society, an organization formed in 1969 with the aim of encouraging research into the life and works of Lewis Carroll (Charles Lutwidge Dodgson).
