Pearl Hogrefe Fellowship in Creative Writing
Information about the Hogrefe Fellowship, awarded each year by the advisory committee of the Pearl Hogrefe Fund to graduate students interested in creative writing.

Applicants to the Hogrefe Fellowship may major in any field at Iowa State University. However, the fellowship is designed for students interested in creative writing. Fellowship holders are required to take a minimum of six semester credits of graduate work in Creative Writing during the fellowship year. Normally, the six credits are met through one three-hour Creative Writing course per semester.
The fellowship is granted for a nine-month academic year and currently carries a stipend of $1,350 per month, subject to the student maintaining satisfactory grades. In addition, the fellowship will provide for payment of university tuition and fees during the fellowship year.

Applicants must qualify for full, unrestricted admission to the Iowa State University Graduate College.

Students currently enrolled for graduate study in the M.F.A. Program in Creative Writing and Environment at Iowa State University are ineligible.

Previous recipients of the Hogrefe Fellowship are ineligible.
