Applying to the Program
An overview of how to apply to the RPC doctoral program, including links to forms and other information.
The doctoral program in RPC invites applications from individuals with prior academic and professional work outside of English. Applicants to the program must meet the following requirements:
- a bachelor's or master's degree from a United States college or university, or the equivalent from a foreign institution
- satisfactory completion of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE), as determined by the English Department Graduate Admissions Evaluation Committee
- for nonnative speakers of English, a Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 111 IBT/273 CBT/640 PBT or higher, a score of 25 IBT Writing or 5.0 CBT Essay Rating or higher, and an audio/video/CD demonstrating the applicant's spoken-English proficiency.
