Careers in Business and Industry

Speech communication graduates who are interested in utilizing their talents and skills in business and industry have secured exciting and challenging positions in such areas as personnel, sales, public relations, and management. Still others have utilized their speech education as a foundation for advanced study in communication, human relations, counseling, theology, medicine, and law.

Communication internships in business and professional settings are available for qualified students.

Teaching

Many graduates with this emphasis become teachers at the junior high or high school level. They might teach creative dramatics, voice and articulation, oral interpretation, interpersonal communication, mass communication, public speaking, drama, discussion, or debate. Those who aspire to teach at the college or university level go on to complete an advanced degree.
