B.A. in Communication Studies
Students majoring in Communication Studies will learn about the theories, concepts and practices of human communication.
B.A. in English, Emphasis in English Education
The English Education Program at Iowa State University gives undergraduate students the opportunity to major in English, earn a B. A. degree from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, qualify for a secondary (grades 7-12) teaching license from the Iowa Department of Education, and position themselves to earn extra teaching endorsements in Reading, English as a Second Language, or other disciplines.
B.A. in English, Emphasis in Literary Studies
This option is designed to give students a broad knowledge of creative writing, literature, and related issues.
B.A. in English, Emphasis in Rhetorical Studies
Majors will gain extensive experience with rhetoric and professional communication by choosing from among advanced courses.
B.A., B.S. in Speech Communication
Students in Interpersonal and Rhetorical Communication develop an understanding of communication theories, principles, and applications.
B.S. in Technical Communication
The undergraduate program in technical communication addresses the natural relationship between practical communication and science/technology.
