Introduction
August, 2007
Dear New Instructors,
Welcome to teaching in the computer classrooms. The English department has been teaching writing courses in computer classrooms since 1988. During that time, instructors have used computer technology to create innovative and effective learning environments. We teach in five classrooms in the residence halls and one in Durham Hall, as well as the five classrooms in Ross Hall.
The links below provide information that will help you as you begin teaching in our computer classrooms. As you prepare to teach in these facilities, you may have questions about how to plan your curriculum or even how your students will save their documents. Many common questions are addressed in these pages, and several experienced instructors have contributed information to make your transition to computerized teaching easier. Although you will probably not use all of this information the first day you teach, this information will prove helpful as the semester progresses.

Have a good semester teaching.
