- Co-Major in M.A. Programs Request
- Co-majoring requires that all requirements in each of the two majors (including areas of specialization) be met (at least 15 credits of specialized courses in each of the two majors), not counting the thesis credits, and requires a minimum of 42 credit hours to complete this single M.A. degree.

- Exit Survey for Graduate Programs
- The survey below is intended to assist the Department of English in evaluating its graduate programs by asking our graduating students to give us some feedback. This information is voluntary, but your responses will help us measure and improve our programs. If you are concerned about confidentiality of your responses, you may leave the survey in the Graduate Secretary's 206 Ross mailbox rather than returning it in person (403 Ross) or emailing your responses (englgrad@iastate.edu). We appreciate your cooperation and hope you’ll take the time to give us your comments.
- Exit Information Form for Graduate Students
- You must submit this information both in electronic format to the Graduate Secretary in 403 Ross (via email to englgrad@iastate.edu) before the Director of Graduate Education (DOGE) will sign your Graduate Student Approval Slip for Graduation.
- Graduate English Minor Request
- For Master’s students, a graduate English minor consists of 9 credits in English courses, 6 of which must be at the 500-600 level. For Ph.D. students, a graduate minor consists of 12 credits in English courses, 9 of which must be at the 500-600-level
- Language Requirement Form
- Use this form to document meeting a language requirement if required for your Program of Study. Your academic record will reflect that a language requirement was met as part of your degree requirements.
- Transfer Area of Specialization Request
- Applies only to students in the M.A. in English (Creative Writing and Literature specializations). Those requesting a change in specialization from Creative Writing to Literature must indicate their reasons for requesting a transfer and explain their interest and preparation for study in the Literature specialization.
- Transfer Credit Petition
- After you have discussed transfer credit issues with your program adviser/major professor, please bring this completed form and required attachments to the Graduate English Office, 403 Ross, for approval by the Transcript Evaluator.
- Second Area of Specialization Request
- Applies only to those students in the M.A. in English (Creative Writing and Literature specializations). A second specialization requires at least 15 credits of specialized courses in each of the two areas of specialization, not counting the thesis credits, and requires a minimum of 42 credit hours to complete the M.A. degree.
- M.F.A. Petition for Environmental Courses Outside English
- A petition for the 15 credits of Environmental Courses Outside English required as part of the M.F.A. Program of Study. Applies only to M.F.A. students in Creative Writing and Environment. This petition should be submitted before you take any courses to meet the Environmental Courses requirement and no later than when you submit your Degree Planning Sheet in your second semester of study.
- RPC Ph.D. Concentration Petition
- Applies only to doctoral students in Rhetoric and Professional Communication. This petition should be submitted to the Director of Graduate Education before you begin taking coursework in your concentration, but no later than the end of your fourth semester of coursework.
