About the M.A. DegreesThe English Department offers three Master of Arts degrees: the M.A. in English; the M.A. in Rhetoric, Composition, and Professional Communication; and the M.A. in TESL/Applied Linguistics. M.A. in English (Literature)The M.A. in English with a specialization in Literature requires a total of 30 credits of course work. M.A. in English (Literature and the Teaching of Reading)The M.A. in English with a specialization in Literature and the Teaching of Reading requires a total of 30 credits of course work. M.A. in Rhetoric, Composition, and Professional CommunicationThe M.A. in Rhetoric, Composition, and Professional Communication requires a total of 30 credits of course work. M.A. in TESL/Applied LinguisticsThe M.A. in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL)/Applied Linguistics requires a total of 30 credits of course work.
