- About the Doctoral Degrees
- The English Department offers two doctoral degrees: the Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Professional Communication and the Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics and Technology.
- POS: The Committee and the Form (Ph.D.)
- The Ph.D. Program of Study (POS) committee normally consists of at least five members of the graduate faculty.
- Preliminary Examination Requirements (Ph.D.) and ABD Status
- Certain conditions must be met before a student will be allowed to take preliminary examinations in either of the doctoral programs. ABD status is obtained after the preliminary examinations.
