Accessing Novell via the Web
Instructions on how to access the English Department's Novell file servers via the Web. These instructions are written for the Firefox browser, but should work equally well with Safari or Internet Explorer, with the possible exception of Step 1 on how the browser accepts security certificates. Accessing Novell servers via Firefox
- Open the Firefox browser and go to the following url:
https://english.aitlabs.iastate.edu/NetStorage/
You should see the following window:
Click "Accept this certificate permanently" and then click the OK button. - You should now see the following window:
Replace the word "netid" in this example with your own NetID (the one you use to check email). For example, my User Name would read "mteply.faculty.engl.iastate.us"; then type in your NetID password (again, the same one you use to check email).
[For security reasons, leave the "Use Password Manager to remember this password" unchecked.], then click OK.
- You should now see something like the following:
Your volumes should be on the left - explore the folders until you find your files - or you can use text view to navigate to your folders and files. Often, personal files are located under the "DriveU@netid" folder.
><br> NOTE: You must turn off all pop-up window blockers when attempted to download or upload your files.
