HEAL THE DIVIDE ON CAMPUS

A reading of new student-written plays

Protest Plays Project and The Eco-Theatre Lab will present Heal the Divide on Campus, a reading of new student-written plays, on April 15, 12:15 pm, at Parks Library.  This is a free event and all are welcome.

Heal the Divide on Campus is an inter-collegiate initiative that engages college students in writing short plays and monologues about issues of concern in their communities.  These issues may be specific to each playwright’s city or campus or a national/global issue seen through the lens of local perspective and concern.  The new plays are uploaded to a shared drive that each participating campus can access, and then reading series are conducted on multiple campuses each spring.

Students in Dr. Charissa Menefee’s playwriting class participated in a workshop conducted by Protest Plays Project founder Tiffany Antone and then created their own Heal the Divide on Campus plays.  The April 15th reading will feature plays written by Iowa State students.  More about Heal the Divide on Campus can be found at the Protest Plays Project website (www.protestplays.org).  FB event: https://www.facebook.com/events/586739085175371/
