Haley: You will always find me using improv, dance, theater, or otherwise embodied teaching tools.
Quang: PowerPoint.
Haley: If you are quiet, either practice shouting and projecting or use a microphone.
Quang: Read the Repository carefully, understand the rationale of students’ reading requirements, prepare lesson plans carefully, use PowerPoint and don’t hesitate to ask for help if you don’t understand anything.
Haley: I’m really passionate about making things, especially artistic things. I would only call myself particularly skilled in writing, of these, but I connect to different media at different times, so make lots of different things. Soon, my office will have drawers with paintings on them!
Quang: Teaching pronunciation.
Haley: ❤️
Quang: 😄
Haley: I think Will Wood would make for a very interesting conversation.
Quang: Professor John Levis
Haley: I love karaoke. If I’m warmed up, “Happier than Ever” by Billie Eilish. If I’m not warmed up, probably one of her easier songs, like “My Future.”
Quang: Depend on the audience (always remember the “who” question).
Haley: Right now, I believe that students will be best equipped to write in higher level scenarios if they learn to trust their instincts. So, I plan to teach students to view revision as starting right after the first shoddy draft, and I plan to teach them skills that they can find by moving.
Quang: Everything! I enjoy every moment and every aspects of the teaching. It is a completely new experience for me after 20 years being a teacher.
