What is something you have learned from your students during the first weeks of class?
Ellie: All of them have had such interesting experiences that have been delightful to learn about.
Nancy: As an instructor, I need to create more activities for them to express themselves comfortably.
What one teaching tool will we always find you with?
Ellie: I always have my paper calendar open to keep track of dates and deadlines.
Nancy: It depends. Sometimes physical tasks, sometimes Google Form or Kahoot games.

Ellie: Florence Welch (of Florence and the Machine).
Nancy: My friend in China. We talked a lot.
What’s something you are passionate about (outside of ISUCOMM)?
Ellie: I love reading and writing, both fiction and nonfiction.
Nancy: Becoming an independent researcher with critical thinking ability.
If you had to sing karaoke, what song would you pick?
Ellie: “Wide Open Spaces” by the Chicks.
Nancy: “August” by Taylor Swift.
By the end of the semester, what one word do you hope your students will use to describe you?
Ellie: Competent.
