Gene Newgaard is beginning his third time as a lecturer in the English Department. He also taught English at Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls and Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo. He holds an MA in English and a BA in Journalism/Mass Communications from ISU. Prior to his teaching career, he was a radio news director and announcer. He is a native of Iowa Falls where he is serving his eighth year as mayor.
