Kristin Terrill is a PhD student in the Applied Linguistics and Technology program at Iowa State University. She has a BA in English and a MA in Professional Writing, both from Northern Arizona University. Her research is in the area of English for Academic Purposes, with a focus on thesis and dissertation writing. She is currently researching the use of automated writing evaluation (AWE) in tutoring contexts, and is also interested in intelligent tutoring systems (ITS). Kristin has taught composition, English for native speakers of other languages, and an Honors course on preparing scholarship applications. She works as a writing and speaking tutor, specializing in thesis and dissertation writing and applications for nationally competitive awards. Kristin has presented her research at the American Association for Corpus Linguistics (2018) conference, the British Association of Lecturers of English for Academic Purposes (2019) conference, and the International Conference on Writing Analytics (2019).
