We are pleased to invite you to a Meet-and-Greet with Dr. Muzakki Bashori, a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at Cornell University and Assistant Professor of Applied Linguistics at Universitas Negeri Semarang, Indonesia.
Dr. Bashori’s research focuses on automated speaking evaluation and speaking anxiety, key topics in technology-enhanced language learning. He earned his Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics from Radboud University in the Netherlands, specializing in ASR (Automatic Speech Recognition)-based language learning, and has published widely in international journals such as Computer-Assisted Language Learning, System, and Innovation in Language Learning and Teaching.
Beyond his work in ASR-based learning, Dr. Bashori is actively engaged in language preservation research, particularly on the future of the Javanese language. His Fulbright project, conducted in collaboration with Professor Abigail C. Cohn, explores how digital gaming can contribute to language maintenance, aligning with broader discussions on language shift and revitalization.
This is a great opportunity to engage with Dr. Bashori and discuss his research. Faculty and students alike are welcome!
