Cancelled — Integrating Grammarly into your ISU Course: Why and How

CATEGORIES: Department Events
April 2, 2020, 1:00-2:00pm | Ross 212

In this interactive workshop, Dr. Jim Ranalli will provide a guided introduction to the premium version of Grammarly, an online writing enhancement tool, which all ISU faculty and students currently have access to via a pilot program. Dr. Ranalli’s 2018 CELT-sponsored trial of Grammarly in writing-focused and writing-intensive courses (including ENGL 150 and 250) found that most of the 26 participating instructors said they noticed a reduction in grammar and spelling errors in their students’ writing and, further, that Grammarly made the job of giving feedback on writing easier. Participants in this session will develop an understanding of Grammarly’s strengths and weaknesses through hands-on tasks and consider options for incorporating it into their courses. Please bring your laptop and activate your Grammarly account before the session (see instructions).
