Emily Dux Speltz won the 2020 Departmental Research Grant Award for her project “The Effect of Automated Fluency Feedback on Product and Process Measures.”

This project explores the potential of a computer-assisted intervention for written language production that directly encourages fluent outputting of text. It is the first study to systematically investigate automated, real-time, process-focused feedback on writing, addressing the important crossover between linguistics, the rhetoric of writing, and the psychology of text production.
