Dear all,
If you missed Stuart Selber’s talk, “Framing AI for Curriculum Reform,” you may watch it here. Selber’s talk offered useful and responsible ways of thinking about AI in writing classes, and it was the unofficial kickoff to the ISUComm Foundation Courses Redesign Institute, which takes place in June (detailed information can be found here). If you would like to participate in the Redesign Institute, please fill out this brief application by Friday, April 26. I’m happy to answer any questions you may have.
Our final brown bag of the semester is this Wednesday, April 24 at 1:10pm in Ross 212, and we’re going to ask attendees about “glows and grows” (thanks for the terms, Emily Riley!) for ENGL 150, ENGL 250, and the program as a whole. We want to hear what you think is working well and what could use some attention. We will use what we learn to help us refine our plans for the Redesign Institute. If you’re unable to attend the brown bag session, you will get the opportunity to provide feedback about the program in a brief survey. Look for that in your email later this week.
I wish you all a great end to the semester. Thank you for your work!
All best,
Lesley
