Bio
Jay Clark is a wilderness traveler and educator, essayist, and poet. Their recent work focuses on touch, space, and physical entwinement with our world, with a special emphasis on backcountry living and outdoor adventure.
Jay is pursuing an MFA in Creative Writing and Environment and a Graduate Certificate in Geographic Information Systems at Iowa State University. They serve as the co-managing editor of the Flyway Journal of Writing and Environment and co-steward of the Everett Casey Nature Reserve. They are also the Resources Coordinator at the Margaret Sloss Center for Women and Gender Equity.
In the summers, Jay leads backpacking courses for the National Outdoor Leadership School. Jay holds a Bachelor of Arts in Human Ecology from College of the Atlantic.
