Pearl Hogrefe Visiting Writer Series for Spring 2026. For a little while: A conversation on the craft of writing with author and environmental activist Rick Bass. Monday, February 9 from 1 to 2 PM in Ross 212. Bass is the author of over thirty books, including most recently, For a Little While: New and Selected Stories and With Every Great Breath: New and Selected Essays. He is a winner of the Story Prize, the James Jones First Novel Fellowship, a PEN/Nelson Algren Award Special Citation for fiction, and was a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award. He is a recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship. There is a photo of the author and pictures of five book covers.
