Written and produced by Taylor Sklenar, lecturer in the Department of English, Resistance will finish its tour in Iowa on April 5 at the Ames Public Library. The cast and crew includes multiple department faculty and alum.The play follows a cast of farmers over several years as they fight increasingly herbicide-resistant weeds. When a new herbicide is introduced into the community, the neighboring farmers must grapple with their differing perceptions of risk – and even with each other – as they try to move forward together. Each performance will be followed by a community conversation, where audience members will be invited to share their own stories related to the themes of the play.
