Bio
Jorge E. Ambacher is an educator and writer from the Juárez-El Paso border. He is a recent MA in Literature graduate from Iowa State University where he taught ENGL 1500: Critical Thinking and Communication; and ENGL 2500: Written, Oral, Visual, and Electronic Composition. He also received the English Department’s Teaching Excellence Award in Spring of 2025. Ambacher values community in the classroom that accentuates each student’s individuality through language and writing. Ambacher has over five years of teaching experience at all education levels, including teaching Emergent Bilingual/English Language Learners (ELLs), celebrating students’ ambition to express themselves in a different language. His area of interests are 20th century American literature, specifically Chicanx and African American literature. Ambacher enjoys writing poetry and prose that probes physical and figurative borders.
