Bio
Kephren Pritchett is a nonfiction writer, editor, and textile artist who has lived most of her life along the lakeshore in eastern Wisconsin. She studied linguistics and anthropology at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and worked as a knitting pattern writer, technical editor, and knitting teacher before graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay with a BFA in Writing and Applied Arts and English. She served as chief copyeditor of Sheepshead Review, the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay’s international journal of art & literature, and as editor of the Environmental Impact Statement for the establishment of a National Estuarine Research Reserve in the Bay of Green Bay. Her current work includes writing a memoir about recovering her mental health through her creative practice and creating a handmade and sustainable wardrobe. Kephren’s work strives to unravel conventional ideas of gender roles, sexuality, and personal expression and to stitch together the connections between mental health, creativity, and sustainability.
