Bio

Samuel Piccone is from Colorado. He is the author of “Domestica,” winner of the 2026 Miller Williams Prize selected by Patricia Smith for University of Arkansas Press, and “Pupa,” editors’ choice in the 2017 Rick Campbell Chapbook Prize with Anhinga Press. He holds an MFA in poetry from North Carolina State University and an MA in writing and publishing from DePaul University. His poems have received several awards, including the swamp pink Poetry Prize, the Bayou Kay Murphy Prize for Poetry, the Frontier Poetry Award for New Poets, and the River Styx Poetry Contest. His work has appeared in several publications including, Sycamore Review, Frontier Poetry, Passages North, Southern Indiana Review, Washington Square Review, and RHINO. He serves as poetry editor at Raleigh Review, and is an assistant teaching professor at Iowa State University.
