The film “Talking Black in America” will be shown at 8:00 pm Thursday, November 15 in the Memorial Union Great Hall. The film describes the history and role of language in the lives of African Americans and its impact on the speech and culture of the United States. Dr. Walt Wolfram, the film’s executive producer, will take questions following the 60-minute film. Wolfram is a Distinguished Professor at North Carolina State University, a world leader in sociolinguistic research and publications, and the director of the Language & Life Project at NC State University.  Sponsors: Linguistics Program and Committee on Lectures (funded by Student Government)
