DeRionne Pollard, President of Montgomery College, a multi-campus community college of 60,000 students near Washington, D.C., received an Iowa State BA in 1993 and MA in 1995, both in English.  She earned a PhD in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Loyola-Chicago and was president of La Positas College in California before going to Montgomery in 2010.
