Bio
Nathan is a PhD candidate in Rhetoric and Professional Communication and a Graduate Teaching Assistant. He holds a Master’s degree in Communication Studies from Portland State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Speech Communication from Oregon State University. His research interests include media studies, persuasion, and political communication.
Prior to his career in academia, Nathan worked as a human resources consultant with employers throughout the Western U.S., focusing on employee education about health and benefits. This role inspired his interest in higher education, leading him to pursue advanced studies with the goal of securing a full-time teaching position.
Originally from the Pacific Northwest, Nathan currently enjoys learning about college football and exploring Iowa.
