Bio
Danson Kimathi is a Ph.D. student in the Applied Linguistics and Technology program at Iowa State University. He holds a Master of Education in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from the University of Exeter, United Kingdom, awarded through the A. S. Hornby Educational Trust Scholarship; a Bachelor of Education in English Language and Literature from Kenyatta University, Kenya; and a Certificate in TESOL from Arizona State University.
He has taught English language in Kenya and the United Kingdom, including voluntary service as a language teaching assistant. His academic interests include technology-enhanced English language teaching, sociolinguistics, and teacher development. He has presented at the International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language (IATEFL) Conference and the Africa English Language Teachers Association (Africa ELTA) Conference. He maintains active membership in TESOL International Association, IATEFL, Africa ELTA, and the English Language Professionals Association of Kenya (ELPAK).
