Bio
Selma is a current graduate student at ISU working towards a Master’s degree with a focus in Literature. Selma previously attended Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC), earning her A.A. in the fall of 2023, and most recently graduated with her B.A. from ISU in the fall of 2025. She has prior teaching experience and is excited to serve as a teaching assistant in the English department. She hopes to help students find their voices, as she did through her years at DMACC and ISU. Lastly, throughout her studies, she hopes to explore the dystopian genre, the elements that make a story fall into the genre, or even ask the question of what’s the formula to creating a dystopia, or is there even one at all?
