Bio
Ben holds a Bachelor’s degree in English and a Master’s degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from the University of Northern Iowa. The primary focus of his Master’s research paper was the pronunciation of French vowels by native English speakers from Iowa. He is currently a student and teaching assistant in the ALT program at Iowa State University. His research focuses on L2 pronunciation and the use of technology and artificial intelligence in language teaching. He also has interests in corpus linguistics and language assessment. Ben is also a guitar player, and his instrument of choice is the Fender Stratocaster. His main musical genre is 1950s and 1960s rock instrumentals, and his favorite band is The Shadows.
