Bio

Dina Gadieva is a PhD student in Applied Linguistics and Technology at Iowa State University. Originally from Russia, she has over 15 years of experience in education, with a focus on educational administration, English language instruction, and teacher training. She has taught students of all ages in Russia, Turkey, Thailand, Malta, and the US, working in both academic and community-based programs.

She earned her MA in Teaching English as a Second Language from St. Cloud State University in 2025. Her thesis investigated intonation patterns in Russian-accented English, contributing to current discussions on prosody in second language speech.

Her research interests include second language pronunciation, language assessment, and the integration of educational technology in language teaching. At Iowa State, she is particularly focused on exploring how digital tools can support oral skills development and provide effective feedback in language learning.

Outside of her academic work, Dina enjoys playing the guitar, singing, and hiking.
