Ejiro Elizabeth Edward is a passionate lover of the arts. She is the convener of Benin Arts and Book Festival, A Literary festival that is based in Benin city, Nigeria. She is the winner of Antoa poetry contest, Ken Saro Wiwa prize for literature and has been shortlisted for fiction and non-fiction prizes. She has been published in reputable magazines such as hoax magazine, room magazine, reckoning, queer magazine, 20:35 Africa amongst many others. She recently also got awarded the Obsidian Fellowship, The Slough House Residency, The Social Artivist Award and the Chateau Orquaeveux Residency and most recently, Soaring Gardens Residency. She is currently pursuing her master’s degree in creative writing at Iowa State University where she is on scholarship.
