A Seattle native, Emily Golden holds an MFA in Creative Writing and Environment from Iowa State University where she currently teaches. Emily has had plays produced all around the country, including short plays by Edmonds Driftwood Players, Fusion in New Mexico, Theatre Company of Lafayette in Colorado, and many others. Her full-length plays have seen similar success. Bethany Sees the Stars premiered in 2023 at Copious Love in Seattle. Her play for young audiences, Gale, was written as a commission for Shoreline Community College where it premiered, as well as being named a finalist for the Lanford Wilson New American Play Festival. Her newest play, Bear Hunt, has had readings with Iowa Stage Company and Bleecker St. Playhouse. It was also a semi-finalist for the O’Neill Theatre Center’s National Playwrights Conference.
