Bio
Gi Jung is a Ph.D. student co-majoring in Applied Linguistics and Technology and Human-Computer Interaction. Before his doctoral studies, he taught English at middle and high schools in Korea for nearly 10 years. He also developed province- and nationwide English language tests, co-authored middle school English textbooks, trained pre-service and in-service English teachers, and helped revise the English section of the national curriculum of Korea. His current research focuses on developing and validating generative AI-enhanced oral communication/pragmatics assessment systems. His research interests include generative AI-enhanced language assessment, dynamic assessment, validation, pragmatics, discourse analysis, and teacher education. Outside of research, he enjoys working out at the gym and discovering new Instagrammable cafes.
