Bio
Gus likes movies. In particular, he appreciates films that elicit strong emotions of any kind. This being so, his research focuses on extreme, surrealist, absurdist, and avant-garde cinema.
In addition to watching and thinking about interesting films, Gus relishes his teaching responsibilities. He finds a great deal of value in helping his students improve their ability to properly and effectively communicate their ideas.
Outside of the academic setting, Gus lifts weights, roots for the Cleveland Guardians, listens to post-rock, discusses philosophy of religion with his friends, and brainstorms names for his future dog (the current frontrunner is “Monkey”).
