Bio
Paul Kimumwe is a 4th year PhD Student in the Rhetoric and Professional Communication (RPC) and a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the English Department. He is a recipient of the Department’s Freda Huncke Scholarship (2022/23). Paul has over 20 years of combined experience in journalism, media development, technology and digital rights advocacy in Africa. He has previously worked with or consulted for Nation Media Group, Panos, Article 19, ActionAid International, African Center for Media Excellence (ACME), Freedom House, PATH, UNESCO, African Freedom of Information Center, Collaboration on International ICT Policy for East and Southern Africa CIPESA), among others. At ISU, Paul has taught multiple sections of ENGL 1500, 2500, and ENGL 2120. Paul’s research interests include UD and Multimodality in Visual Communication, Usability and UX in TPC, Rhetoric of Technology and Disability, and Media Studies.
