Bio

Sue Pagnac is returning to ISU as a newly appointed Lecturer in English. This fall, she will be teaching ENGL 2500 and 2500H. Prior to Lecturing at Iowa State, Sue taught First Year Composition and Writing for Business at Grand View University in Des Moines. Previously, she served as the Director of Writing at Central College in Pella, IA, for 13 years before the position was eliminated. Sue has taught a variety of writing courses since 1998, including developmental, first-year, business, professional, and technical writing.

Sue completed her Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Professional Communication at Iowa State University in 2013. Her research focuses on writing pedagogy, writing program administration, and writing centers; she is particularly interested in the impact of artificial intelligence on teaching writing. Her work has been published in the Dynamic Activities for First-Year Composition anthology in addition to Praxis: A Writing Center Journal, WPA: Writing Program Administration and Pedagogy. Outside of teaching, service, and scholarship, Sue enjoys gardening, needle crafts, and spending time with her family and dog Molly.
