Elizabeth Lee Receives ISU Brown Fellowship Award for 2018-19

Elizabeth Lee, a 4th year PhD student in Applied Linguistics and Technology, was awarded the ISU Brown Fellowship for the 2018-19 academic year. This award is granted to deserving recipients aiming to enhance their research in their disciplinary area. Elizabeth is developing and evaluating classroom-based and program-level L2 reading assessments. With the support of the Brown Fellowship, she will be investigating how assessments can better reflect the standards of the curriculum and diagnose learners’ literacy strengths and weaknesses. This project closes some of the mysterious “gaps” that surround L2 reading by developing practical-yet-effective assessment tools.
