The Everett Casey Nature Reserve welcome event has been rescheduled for Saturday, October 14th.
This event is to welcome all members of the English department and get you acquainted with one lovely chunk of Iowa. You are welcome to bring friends from outside the department or the University as well.
We will also be treated to Stewardship talk and trail walk with Evie Toland! We invite you to join us for one or both of these experiences:
Walk around Casey- 3:30 pm. Meet at the parking area. Wear good walking shoes and come prepared for some mild bushwacking on the back half of the trail!
Campfire gathering – 6:30 pm. Follow the trail from the parking area to the picnic bench where we will be waiting with a fire, s’mores supplies, and potatoes ready to cook on the open range.
We encourage you to bring water, good shoes, warm layers, and long pants as it will be chilly as the sun goes down and the path is quite narrow. If you have a camping chair, you are welcome to bring that as well.
We recommend carpooling. Reach out to your fellow cohort members and department friends to see if they want to ride together.
